Richard’s first book Beyond the Horizon was released three weeks ago and has already impressed readers, fans, pundits, journalists and athletes, all enthralled by Richard’s story from rugby retirement to extreme environment athlete.

In just two days Beyond the Horizon reached no.1 in the Extreme Sports Category on Amazon and has quickly worked it’s way up the rugby charts to no.3 on Amazon alongside Brian O’Driscoll and Gareth Thomas’s memoirs, and ahead of Richie McCaw and Jonny Wilkinson’s autobiographies.

Beyond the Horizon has also been receiving rave reviews from sports journalists with the Telegraph’s Steve James headlining “If you read one book this week, make it Richard Parks' stunning insight into the pain of life after sport” and states; “I do not think I have ever read such a vivid, moving and utterly authentic description of what the end of a professional sporting life can mean”.

Robert Kitson of the Guardian wrote; “contained within it are some of the most honest, heartfelt, insightful passages you will find in any sporting autobiography” and “anyone with a tendency to doubt themselves – or who wonder if they have it in them to prosper in the wider world – should buy his book.”
