Richard to speak at Outdoor Adventure and Camping Show

Richard will be returning to the Outdoor Adventure and Camping Show at London’s Excel this weekend speaking at the Adventure Theatre on Saturday and Sunday.

The show is a fantastic event for families and outdoor enthusiasts and this will be the second time Richard has appeared at the event.

Richard’s talk ‘Adventure with Meaning’ will explore the question of why adventure is so important to us all sharing his recent Project Everest Cynllun expedition. In 2016 Richard attempted to climb Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen - one of the toughest tests of the human spirit and body. Usually when it comes to an Everest expedition, summiting is the one and only goal. Not in this case.

Project Everest Cynllun was a research expedition to explore the mechanisms underpinning cognitive decline investigating the link with low blood oxygen levels in the brain, all set against some of the most beautiful geography on the planet.

Adventure with Meaning will intimately share the emotional highs and lows, laughs, science and near fatality of pushing the boundaries of human performance, whilst answering the question ‘why’?
